Bullying Problem in Tomigusuku City

On March 30th, the third committee established by the City Board of Education handed in the reserch reports regarding the case of a 4th grade boy committed suicide at home in Tomigusuku city in October 2015. The contents of the reports were “The bullying may have been one of the major reasons of boy’s suicide.”

Mr. Amakata served as the chairman of the third committee and interviewed and tallied a survey from children and teachers many times in cooperation with prefectural clinical psychologists and others.

We hope that could be a wakeup call to education circle of Okinawa concerning the bullying problem which is getting bigger in Okinawa.
